HONEY PORK STIR-FRY

Honey Pork Stir-Fry image

A recipe from one of those small community cookbooks that we have modified for our tastes by cutting the amount of meat in half and adding extra veggies! Like any stir-fry, this one is very versatile and you could use almost any veggies that you like. We have also added baby corn and red bell pepper before. *Updated: The review by LARavenscroft reminded me that we usually do 1.5 times or double the amount of sauce, depending on the amount of veggies we are using, so please update accordingly if you feel it needs more sauce.

Categories     Pork

Time 30m

Yield 2-3 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

500 g pork fillets or 500 g other tender lean pork
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
3 teaspoons liquid honey
2 tablespoons oil

Steps:

  • Slice pork thinly.
  • Mix together the honey & mustard.
  • Marinate the pork in honey mustard mixture for at least 15-20 minutes.
  • Heat oil in nonstick wok or pan.
  • Add meat & stirfry with high heat until cooked, stirring & tossing all the time (5-10 minutes).
  • Serve with stir fried veggies & rice or potatoes & salad.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of pork: Pork shoulder, pork tenderloin, and pork loin are all great options for stir-fry. Avoid using pork chops, as they can be tough and dry.
  • Slice the pork thinly against the grain: This will help the pork cook evenly and quickly.
  • Marinate the pork for at least 30 minutes: This will help to tenderize the pork and infuse it with flavor.
  • Use a hot wok or skillet: This will help to sear the pork and prevent it from sticking.
  • Stir-fry the pork in batches: This will help to prevent the pork from overcrowding the pan and becoming tough.
  • Add the vegetables towards the end of cooking: This will help to prevent them from becoming overcooked.
  • Serve the stir-fry immediately: This is the best way to enjoy the dish while it is hot and fresh.

Conclusion:

Honey pork stir-fry is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a quick weeknight meal. By following these tips, you can make a stir-fry that is flavorful, tender, and packed with vegetables.
