SOLO HONEY MUSTARD STEAK AND PASTA

Solo Honey Mustard Steak and Pasta image

The flavor of the sauce is subtle enough to allow the taste of the steak to come through. If Beef Chuck Eye Steak is not available, I would suggest Sirloin. Green Peas might be a nice alternative to the Mushrooms. Cooking is a Creative Sport.

Time 15m

Yield 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

3 -4 ounces beef chuck eye steak (OR Sirloin)
1 cup dry pasta (I like wide flat noodles)
1 tablespoon dijon-style mustard
1 teaspoon honey
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 ounces cans sliced mushrooms, and half of the can liquid

Steps:

  • Cook the pasta in 2 quarts of salted boiling water for about 8 minutes or until done.
  • Cover both sides of the steak with the salt and pepper, and just enough of the olive oil to give it a slight shine.
  • Pour the rest of the olive oil, mustard and honey into a shallow pasta dish.
  • Place the steak in a hot frying pan (I like cast iron) and cook for 3 1/2 minutes per side.
  • When the steak is done, set aside to rest and add the mushrooms and liquid to the hot pan and scrape the cooked bits off the bottom.
  • Add the drained pasta, stir once, and pour into the dish.
  • Slice the steak into thin strips, add to the pasta and toss until everything is coated with the honey mustard mixture.
  • Serve with a Green Salad.

OUTBACK STEAK HOUSE HONEY MUSTARD SAUCE (GREAT FOR ALICE SPRINGS

Outback Steak House Honey Mustard Sauce (Great for Alice Springs image

Nearly perfect Copycat of their Honey mustard. The light corn syrup is what makes it. You also can't really make it bad, the first time I made it I put in 1/2 cup of mayo and it still turned out fine! Also if your like me you might not know what "prepared salad mustard" is; Well its just regular yellow mustard.

Time 2m

Yield 1 1/4 cups

Number Of Ingredients 4

1/2 cup prepared salad mustard
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup mayonnaise

Steps:

  • Blend all together until completely smooth.
  • *NOTE* The ingredients tend to seperate a little if left in the fridge, no problem though just give it a quick stir and its back. Also it tastes better if you make it ahead of time and let it chill for a bit in the fridge, I would say 30 minutes to an hour would be fine.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of steak: Thicker cuts of steak, such as ribeye, strip loin, and tenderloin, work best for this recipe. Look for steaks that are at least 1 inch thick.
  • Marinate the steak: Marinating the steak in the honey mustard sauce for at least 30 minutes helps to tenderize the meat and infuse it with flavor.
  • Cook the steak over medium heat: Cooking the steak over medium heat helps to prevent it from becoming tough and overcooked.
  • Use a meat thermometer: The best way to ensure that the steak is cooked to your desired doneness is to use a meat thermometer. Cook the steak until it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit for medium-rare, 160 degrees Fahrenheit for medium, or 170 degrees Fahrenheit for well-done.
  • Let the steak rest: After cooking the steak, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This helps the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.

Conclusion:

Honey mustard steak is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion. By following the tips above, you can ensure that your steak turns out perfectly cooked and flavorful every time. So next time you're looking for a new way to cook steak, give honey mustard steak a try. You won't be disappointed!
