Time 8h

Yield 10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/3 cup oil
1/3 cup liquid honey
4 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons barbecue sauce
3 large fresh garlic cloves (chopped in quarters or large pieces)
1 green onion (sliced into about 1-inch pieces)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

wooden skewer (soaked in cold water a minimum of 30 minutes or longer before threading)

Steps:

  • Slice the chicken breasts in half or into thirds or whatever size you you desire to thread on the skewers.

  • Cover and refrigerate for a minimum of 8-24 hours (tossing the strips once or twice during chilling won't hurt!).

Tips:

  • Choose the right chicken: Boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs are ideal for skewers. For a more flavorful dish, use dark meat chicken thighs.
  • Marinate the chicken: Marinating the chicken in a flavorful mixture of honey, barbecue sauce, and spices helps tenderize and add flavor to the meat. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
  • Skewer the chicken: Use metal or wooden skewers to skewer the chicken pieces. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before using to prevent them from burning.
  • Grill the chicken: Grill the chicken skewers over medium heat for 8-10 minutes per side, or until cooked through. Baste the chicken with the remaining marinade during the last few minutes of cooking.
  • Serve the chicken: Serve the chicken skewers immediately with your favorite sides, such as grilled vegetables, rice, or potato salad.

Conclusion:

Honey barbecue chicken skewers are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for summer grilling. The chicken is tender and juicy, and the honey barbecue sauce adds a sweet and tangy flavor. These skewers are sure to be a hit at your next party or barbecue.
