Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: Fresh, flavorful ingredients will result in a better-tasting shepherd's pie. Look for high-quality ground beef, vegetables, and herbs.

  • Use a variety of vegetables: A variety of vegetables will add flavor and texture to the shepherd's pie. Some good choices include carrots, celery, onions, peas, and corn.
  • Season the dish well: Shepherd's pie should be well-seasoned with salt, pepper, and herbs. Be generous with the seasonings, but don't overdo it.
  • Use a good-quality gravy: The gravy is an important part of shepherd's pie. Make sure to use a good-quality gravy that is flavorful and thick. You can use a store-bought gravy or make your own.
  • Top the pie with mashed potatoes: The mashed potatoes are the topping that makes shepherd's pie so comforting. Make sure to use fluffy, creamy mashed potatoes that are well-seasoned.
  • Bake the pie until it is golden brown: Bake the shepherd's pie in a preheated oven until the mashed potatoes are golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
