Time 4m

Yield 1 cup approximately

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/4 cup garlic powder
1/4 cup onion powder
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons Lawry's Seasoned Salt
1/2 teaspoon citric acid
1 (1/2 ounce) jar parsley (crushed fine)
1 teaspoon black pepper (optional) or 1 teaspoon white pepper (optional)

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients and place in air tight jar.
  • Stir one teaspoon of dressing/dip mix into 8 ounces of sour cream at a time to taste.
  • Pour buttermilk into sour cream mixture until it is the desired thickness for dressing.
  • Omit buttermilk for dip or use very little.
  • This may also be added to a mayonnaise and buttermilk mixture if preferred or added to "soy" sour cream substitute with soy milk and a teaspoon of vinegar to make it vegan.

Tips:

  • Use fresh herbs for the best flavor. If you don't have fresh herbs on hand, you can use dried herbs, but they won't have as much flavor.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different ingredients. You can add other spices, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or cayenne pepper, to create your own unique ranch dressing mix.
  • Store the ranch dressing mix in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. It will keep for up to 6 months.
  • To make ranch dressing, simply mix 1/2 cup of the ranch dressing mix with 1 cup of mayonnaise and 1 cup of sour cream. You can also add milk or water to thin out the dressing, if desired.

Conclusion:

Homemade ranch dressing mix is a delicious and versatile condiment that can be used on salads, vegetables, sandwiches, and even pizza. It is also a great way to add flavor to your favorite recipes. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make your own ranch dressing mix in minutes. So next time you're in the kitchen, give it a try!
