**Homemade Banana Frozen Yogurt: A Refreshing and Healthy Treat**

Indulge in the delightful Homemade Banana Frozen Yogurt, a perfect balance of creamy yogurt, sweet bananas, and a hint of tangy lemon. This frozen treat is not only a delicious snack or dessert but also packed with nutrients, making it a guilt-free indulgence. With just a few simple ingredients and a blender, you can easily whip up this frozen yogurt at home.

This recipe offers two variations to cater to different dietary preferences. The classic version uses regular yogurt, while the vegan version swaps it with coconut yogurt, ensuring a dairy-free option. Both variations are equally delicious and provide a refreshing and satisfying treat.

The addition of ripe bananas adds a natural sweetness and creaminess to the frozen yogurt, reducing the need for added sugar. You can use fresh or frozen bananas, depending on what you have on hand. The tangy lemon juice adds a delightful citrusy flavor and balances the sweetness of the bananas perfectly.

To create a smooth and creamy texture, blend the ingredients until they are well combined. You can adjust the consistency by adding more or less milk or yogurt. For a thicker frozen yogurt, use less milk or yogurt; for a softer texture, add more.

Once blended, pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight. The freezing process gives the frozen yogurt its delightful icy texture.

When ready to serve, scoop the frozen yogurt into bowls and top with your favorite toppings. Fresh fruit, granola, nuts, or even a drizzle of honey are all great options to enhance the flavor and add a touch of crunch.

So, gather your ingredients, put on your apron, and let's embark on a culinary journey to create this delectable Homemade Banana Frozen Yogurt. With its creamy texture, refreshing taste, and customizable toppings, this frozen treat is sure to become a family favorite.

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 4

4 overripe bananas - the blacker the better - about 375 after peeling
500g pot full-fat Greek yogurt
175g condensed milk
big handful banana chips

Steps:

  • Whizz the flesh from the bananas, yogurt and condensed milk together in a food processor or blender until smooth. Scrape into an ice cream container or loaf tin, or divide between individual pots.
  • Crush up the banana chips, if using, by tipping them into a food bag and bashing with the end of a rolling pin - like you would biscuits for a cheesecake base. Swirl through the frozen yogurt mix, then cover the container or containers well with cling film and freeze overnight until solid. Will keep for 3 months in the freezer.
