  • 2. Grease an 8x8 baking dish
  • 3. Run the 3 cups of cooked sweet potatoes through a ricer, food mill or fine mesh sieve or colander.
  • 4. Stir in the rest of the ingredients by hand.
  • 5. Pour into baking dish.
  • 6. Top with Marshmallow cream or mini marshmallow. * The marshmallow cream will come out of the jar easier if you microwave it for just a couple of seconds. NO longer or you will have a marshmallow volcano ! lol
  • 7. Bake until puffy. Serve immediately
  • 8. I always double this recipe so we will have leftovers for the next day. You can make this up the night before and then just pop it in the oven with foil to warm and THEN add the marshmallow.

Tips:

  • Choose sweet potatoes that are firm and have smooth skin. Avoid potatoes that are bruised or have blemishes.
  • Wash the potatoes thoroughly before baking. Scrubbing with a vegetable brush can help remove any dirt or debris.
  • Prick the potatoes with a fork before baking. This will help the potatoes cook evenly and prevent them from bursting.
  • Bake the potatoes at a high temperature (400°F or 200°C) for 45-60 minutes, or until they are tender when pierced with a fork.
  • Let the potatoes cool slightly before handling them. This will help prevent them from breaking apart.
  • Top the potatoes with your favorite toppings, such as butter, brown sugar, marshmallows, or pecans.

Conclusion:

Holiday sweet potatoes are a delicious and versatile side dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. Whether you like them simple or topped with all the fixings, sweet potatoes are a surefire hit at any holiday gathering.
