HOLIDAY PUNCH CROCK POT CIDER

Holiday Punch Crock Pot Cider image

This is a comfort drink that gives your Home a Beautiful Aroma. Full of spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger & cardamom. Like fruity Chai. I favor the Apple Schnapp or Buttershots if you opt for booze. You can always make it without the booze and let those that want it add it themselves. It would be fun to try the different kinds.

Time 2h10m

Yield 20 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 gallon apple cider
3 cups cranberry juice
3 water
6 -12 whole cloves, studded into
1 fresh orange
3 cinnamon sticks
1 whole nutmeg, grated
5 cardamom pods
2 pieces crystallized ginger, chunks (Check out my recipe for it # 102933)
1 cup rum or 1 cup spiced rum

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in crock pot except for the booze.
  • Heat on high for 2 hours, then keep warm on low.
  • Just before serving add booze if you want.
  • Adding water if needed.
  • Enjoy!
  • Happy Holidays!

Tips:

  • Choose the right apples: Use a variety of apples to create a complex flavor profile. Some good options include Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, and Pink Lady.
  • Use fresh spices: Whole spices, such as cinnamon sticks, cloves, and nutmeg, will give your cider a more intense flavor than ground spices.
  • Simmer, don't boil: Bring the cider to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for at least 30 minutes. This will help to extract the flavors of the apples and spices.
  • Strain the cider: After the cider has simmered, strain it through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any solids. You can also use a cheesecloth-lined colander.
  • Sweeten to taste: If you like your cider sweet, add some sugar or honey to taste. You can also add a splash of orange juice or cranberry juice for a tart flavor.
  • Serve warm or cold: Holiday cider can be served warm or cold. If you're serving it warm, reheat it over low heat until it's just simmering. If you're serving it cold, let it cool completely before refrigerating.

Conclusion:

Holiday cider is a delicious and festive drink that's perfect for any holiday gathering. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make a delicious batch of cider that your friends and family will love. So next time you're looking for a warm and comforting drink, give holiday cider a try.
