Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients whenever possible, especially the shrimp and vegetables. Fresh ingredients will give your stir-fry the best flavor.
  • Make sure to devein and clean the shrimp before cooking. This will remove the intestinal tract, which can be gritty and unpleasant to eat.
  • Use a large skillet or wok to cook your stir-fry. This will allow you to easily toss the ingredients and prevent them from overcrowding.
  • Heat your skillet or wok over high heat before adding the oil. This will help to create a nice sear on the shrimp and vegetables.
  • Add the ingredients to the skillet or wok in stages. Start with the shrimp and cook them until they are just pink. Then, add the vegetables and cook them until they are tender-crisp.
  • Stir-fry the ingredients constantly to prevent them from burning. Use a spatula to toss the ingredients around the skillet or wok.
  • Add the hoisin sauce and cook for a few minutes, until the sauce has thickened and coated the ingredients.
  • Serve the hoisin shrimp stir-fry over rice or noodles.
