Tips:

  • Adjust the oven temperature: High-altitude baking requires a lower oven temperature to prevent over-baking. For this deep-dish brownie recipe, reduce the oven temperature by 25°F (15°C) from the temperature specified in the original recipe.
  • Increase the baking time: Since the oven temperature is lower, it will take longer for the brownies to bake through. Increase the baking time by 5-10 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Use a larger pan: To ensure that the brownies bake evenly, use a 9x13 inch pan instead of an 8x8 inch pan. This will give the brownies more surface area and help them cook more evenly.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter can result in tough, dense brownies. Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Let the brownies cool completely: Before cutting and serving the brownies, let them cool completely in the pan. This will help them to set and firm up.

Conclusion:

By following these tips, you can create delicious and fudgy deep-dish brownies at high altitudes. Remember to adjust the oven temperature, increase the baking time, use a larger pan, don't overmix the batter, and let the brownies cool completely. With a little practice, you'll be able to bake perfect brownies every time, no matter where you live.
