BBQ HERB & GARLIC FISH

This recipe is an oldie from Miracle Whip and it is very good! I used Newzealand Blue Hoki Fillets but you can use red or white fish. You may also try 1/4 cup lowfat yogurt with only a 1/4 cup Miricle whip. This is quick and easy.

HERB & GARLIC FISH

I love this recipe because it is so fast and easy. It tastes wonderful. I found this on an ad for Miracle Whip. This recipe works best with white fish. I tried this on salmon, it was not as good. Salmon was thicker and took much longer to cook. I had to wrap it in foil and bake to finish.

Time 15m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 cup Miracle Whip (I use Best Foods mayonnaise)
1 teaspoon italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 lb fish fillet (white fish tastes best)
1/2 cup dried breadcrumbs

Steps:

  • Mix salad dressing and seasonings and 1/2 of the lemon juice in a small bowl.
  • Place fish on greased rack of broiler pan.
  • Brush with salad dressing mixture.
  • Sprinkle with bread crumbs.
  • This is optional.
  • Broil 2 to 4 inches from heat 6 to 8 minutes or until fish flakes easily with fork.
  • Sprinkle with rest of lemon juice just before serving.

Tips:

  • Choose the right fish: Any firm-fleshed fish will work for this recipe, such as salmon, tilapia, or cod.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: Make sure to leave enough space between the fish fillets so that they can cook evenly.
  • Don't overcook the fish: Fish is cooked through when it flakes easily with a fork.
  • Use fresh herbs: Fresh herbs will give your fish the best flavor. If you don't have fresh herbs, you can use dried herbs, but use half the amount.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment: You can add other vegetables to this recipe, such as cherry tomatoes, zucchini, or mushrooms.

Conclusion:

This herb-garlic fish is a delicious and easy-to-make recipe that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is also a great way to get your kids to eat fish. Serve it with your favorite sides, such as roasted potatoes, grilled vegetables, or rice.
