Steps:
- 1. BARS: Bring to a boil the butter, sugar, evaporated milk & egg. Remove from heat & add the coconut, nuts and 1 cup of graham cracker crumbs.
- 2. Spread 1/2 box of whole graham crackers in shallow pan and pour the boiled mixture on top. Place the remaining whole graham crackers over that then frost & cut.
- 3. FROSTING: Melt butter, then gradually add powdered sugar & mix well. Add the milk & vanilla & mix to a spreading consistency. You may need to add more milk to achieve that consistency.
- 4. KEEP REFRIGERATED. These are sweet so you can't eat a belly full.

Tips for Perfect Henry's Jerome Bars:
- Use cold butter: Cold butter creates small pockets of steam during baking, resulting in a flaky, tender crust.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy: This ensures that the cookies will be evenly textured and have a delicate crumb.
- Gradually add eggs: Adding eggs one at a time prevents the batter from curdling.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing can result in a tough, dense cookie. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough helps to develop the flavor and makes it easier to handle.
- Bake the cookies until the edges are golden brown: Overbaking will dry out the cookies.
- Let the cookies cool completely before frosting: This helps to prevent the frosting from melting.
Conclusion:
Henry's Jerome Bars are a classic cookie bar that is perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and always a hit with friends and family. With their sweet, nutty flavor and gooey frosting, these bars are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy-to-make treat, give Henry's Jerome Bars a try.
