SPECIAL MEATLOAF WITH HEINZ 57 SAUCE
My grandmother shared this recipe with me many years ago. It's been our family favorite ever since. I generally use very lean ground beef and it's still nice and moist. Wonderful left over on sandwiches! Although meatloaf is enjoyed throughout the entire U.S., this version gives credit to the region where Heinz 57 became a household word - the Mid-Atlantic region.

HEINZ 57 CHEDDAR MEATLOAF
Not your average meatloaf! The Heinz 57 sauce just gives this great flavor, not too strong, just like a hidden ingredient! I always serve with Catalina dressing to dip it in...AWESOME! The leftovers make great meatloaf sandwiches I butter two slices of bread, put on med. heat frying pan, top one slice with cheese, top cheese with fresh sliced mushrooms then add warmed meatloaf on top, until cheese is melted and bread is golden brown. On the other toasted slice spread mayo. Top meatloaf with a good amount of Heinz 57 and place the two pieces together. Y-U-M.

HEINZ 57® COPYCAT
Someone left the bottle empty in the fridge (well, just a few drops is the same as empty). I had just enough to copy it, then when I brought a sample to my unsuspecting taste-tester, he liked mine better than the original! I washed my Heinz 57® bottle, multiplied this recipe to fill 'er up, and haven't bought another name brand since. Hope you like it!

HEINZ 57 MEATLOAF
I created this to "jazz" up regular meatloaf. Sure smells good when it's cooking! Tastes great too !! (I don't add salt because the saltines and the soup mix have salt in them).

- Use fresh ground beef: Fresh ground beef will give your meatloaf a more flavorful and juicy texture.
- Add some fat to the beef: Ground beef that is too lean will result in a dry meatloaf. Adding some fat, such as bacon or butter, will help to keep the meatloaf moist.
- Don't overwork the meat: Overworking the meat will make it tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
- Use a loaf pan with a raised center: This will help to prevent the meatloaf from shrinking and becoming too dense.
- Bake the meatloaf at a high temperature for a short amount of time: This will help to create a crispy crust on the outside and a juicy center.
- Let the meatloaf rest before slicing: This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meatloaf, making it easier to slice and serve.
