Time 4h5m

Yield 1 1/2 pound loaf, 10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 1/8 cups warm temperature water
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour or 1 cup bread flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
4 tablespoons margarine or 4 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon gluten powder
1/4 cup instant potato flakes
2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Steps:

  • Mix all in your bread machine, in order to your machines instructions.
  • Press start, for a basic light crusted bread.
  • Watch as machine is kneading making any adjustments as needed.
  • Flour is tempermental, so it could use a little more water, or a little more flour.
  • Should be a ROUND soft sticky ball of dough.
  • Remove after baked to cool.

Tips:

  • Choose the right flour: Whole wheat flour is a great choice for a healthier bread, but it can be more difficult to work with than all-purpose flour. If you're new to baking with whole wheat flour, start with a recipe that uses a blend of whole wheat and all-purpose flour.
  • Measure your ingredients accurately: Baking is a science, and precise measurements are important for a successful loaf of bread. Use a kitchen scale to measure your ingredients, and make sure to level off your measuring cups.
  • Knead the dough properly: Kneading the dough is an essential step in bread making. It helps to develop the gluten in the flour, which gives the bread its structure and texture. Knead the dough for at least 5 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm place: The dough needs time to rise in order to develop its flavor and texture. Find a warm place in your kitchen, such as a sunny windowsill or a turned-off oven, and let the dough rise for at least 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  • Bake the bread at a high temperature: A high temperature will help to create a crispy crust and a fluffy interior. Bake the bread at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 30-35 minutes, or until it is golden brown.

Conclusion:

Baking whole wheat bread at home is a rewarding experience. With a little practice, you can create a delicious and nutritious loaf of bread that your family and friends will love. So what are you waiting for? Get baking!
