Tips:

  • Use small pearl onions: Smaller onions will cook more evenly and quickly. If using larger onions, cut them into quarters or halves.
  • Cook the onions until they are browned: This will give them a rich, caramelized flavor.
  • Use a good quality cream: Heavy cream or whipping cream will give the casserole a rich, creamy texture. Half-and-half can also be used, but it will result in a thinner sauce.
  • Season the casserole to taste: Salt, pepper, and garlic powder are all good options. You can also add other herbs and spices, such as thyme, rosemary, or paprika.
  • Garnish the casserole with fresh herbs: Chopped parsley, chives, or thyme are all good options.
  • Serve the casserole hot: Creamed pearl onion casserole is best served hot out of the oven. It can be made ahead of time and reheated, but it is best when served fresh.
  • Conclusion:

Creamed pearl onion casserole is a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is creamy, flavorful, and sure to be a hit with everyone at the table.
