Tips:

  • Use Russet Potatoes: Russet potatoes, also known as baking potatoes, are the best choice for hash brown soup because they have a high starch content, which helps to thicken the soup and give it a creamy texture.
  • Shred the Potatoes Finely: Finely shredding the potatoes will help them cook evenly and quickly in the soup.
  • Don't Overcook the Potatoes: Overcooking the potatoes will make them mushy. Cook them just until they are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Use a Variety of Vegetables: Feel free to add other vegetables to the soup, such as diced carrots, celery, or bell peppers.
  • Add Some Herbs and Spices: Herbs and spices like thyme, rosemary, garlic powder, and onion powder will add flavor to the soup.
  • Serve with Toppings: Serve the soup with toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, or crumbled bacon.

Conclusion:

Hash brown soup is a hearty and comforting soup that is perfect for a cold winter day. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own preferences. With its creamy texture, flavorful broth, and variety of toppings, hash brown soup is sure to be a hit with the whole family.
