PHILLY CHEESE STEAK

Philly Cheese Steak image

I went to college in Tucson, Arizona and loved this little spot named Greasy Tony's. My friends and I would go there after the bars closed for amazing spicy philly cheesesteaks. I moved back to Michigan, and haven't been able to find a replacement since. Here is my adaptation. These are great sandwiches to have when the weather starts to turn cool. I also make a horseradish sauce to put on top but they taste great without the sauce! These make heaping sandwiches. When my market is out of hoagie rolls, I have used hot dog buns, hamburger buns and onion rolls. If you like it spicy, add more pepperoncini. Also, red pepper can be used in lieu of green pepper.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. Choose thinly sliced ribeye steak, fresh bell peppers and onions, and a good quality cheese.
  • Make sure the steak is cooked to your desired doneness. For a medium-rare steak, cook it for about 2 minutes per side.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the steak. This will prevent it from cooking evenly.
  • Use a large skillet or griddle to cook the potatoes. This will give them plenty of room to spread out and crisp up.
  • Season the potatoes with salt, pepper, and garlic powder before cooking. This will help them develop a delicious flavor.
  • Top the Philly cheese steak and potatoes with your favorite toppings. Some popular options include ketchup, mustard, and hot sauce.

Conclusion:

This Philly cheese steak and potato bash is a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a weekend lunch. The steak is cooked to perfection, the potatoes are crispy and flavorful, and the cheese is melted and gooey. This dish is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
