HEALTHY BANANA BREAD
Steps:
- Grease a standard 9x5'' loaf pan (I also like to line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper to make sure the loaf doesn't stick).
- Mash bananas in a mixing bowl. Add egg, vanilla, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon and stir well to combine.
- In a separate small bowl stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to banana mixture and stir to combine.
- Gently stir in melted butter. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 5-10 few minutes before inverting onto a wire cooling rack.

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prep a loaf pan (9x5 or 8x4) by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- 2. In a medium bowl add bananas and use a fork to mash well.
- 3. Add egg, vanilla, brown sugar and granulated sugar. Stir well.
- 4. In a separate bowl combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
- 5. Add dry ingredients into the wet slowly as you stir. Before the two are incorporated add in melted butter. Stir just until barely combined, DO NOT OVER MIX.

- 7. Serve warn or cooled. As with any banana bread/cake, it always tastes better the next day! Store in an airtight container.
HEALTHY BANANA BREAD
Steps:
- Place the rack in the center of your oven and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease an 8 x 4-inch loaf pan with nonstick spray and set aside.
- Mash the bananas in the bottom of a large bowl until mostly smooth.
- Whisk in the egg, then the yogurt and oil.
- Whisk in the brown sugar, maple syrup, and vanilla. Sprinkle the baking soda, cinnamon, and salt over the top, then stir until combined.
- Gently stir in the flour until barely combined, then fold in any mix-ins.
- Scrape the mixture into the prepared pan. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Check at the 35-minute mark and tent with foil if the bread is browning too quickly at the corners. Place the pan on a wire rack and let cool for 15 minutes. Remove from pan and place on rack to finish cooling completely (for neat slicing), or enjoy warm and don't worry if the slices are messy.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Spray 2 loaf pans with non-stick spray.
- Mash bananas.
- Combine sugar, oil and egg--mixing until creamy.
- Blend in mashed bananas.
- In a separate bowl, combine whole wheat flour, ground flax seed, salt, baking soda. (Add the nuts to the dry ingredients at this point). Combine wet and dry ingredients, but do not overmix.
- Pour batter into loaf pans and bake approximately 1 hour-testing with a toothpick at the hour, and then as needed.
- Note: Because the batter is dense you will need to watch the baking time to be sure it is adequate--don't only go by color, flax seed will add darkness.
LOW SUGAR BANANA BREAD
Don't let the fact that there is only 1 tablespoon of sugar fool you! This banana bread is super moist and has just the right amount of sweetness. Use very very ripe bananas for best results.

HEALTHIER BANANA SOUR CREAM BREAD
Esther is right! The sour cream makes this one so moist it melts in your mouth. I make it healthier by using light sour cream, whole wheat flour and less sugar and butter --and you know what? No one can tell the difference!

Tips:
- Use a variety of flours: This recipe uses a combination of all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, and oat flour. This gives the bread a more complex flavor and texture, and also makes it more nutritious.
- Reduce the amount of sugar: This recipe uses only 1/2 cup of sugar, which is significantly less than most banana bread recipes. This makes the bread healthier without sacrificing any of its flavor.
- Use flaxseed meal: Flaxseed meal is a great source of fiber and omega-3 fatty acids. It also helps to bind the bread together and gives it a slightly nutty flavor.
- Use ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful the bread will be. Be sure to use bananas that are very ripe, with plenty of brown spots on the skin.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the bread tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined, then stop.
- Bake the bread at a low temperature: This will help to prevent the bread from drying out. Bake the bread at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Conclusion:
This healthier banana bread recipe is a delicious and nutritious way to enjoy this classic treat. It's made with a variety of flours, less sugar, and flaxseed meal, which makes it healthier than traditional banana bread recipes. The result is a moist, flavorful bread that's perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a snack.
