HAWAIIAN STIR FRY

Hawaiian Stir Fry image

For an easier dinner, use diced cooked chicken breast, or diced leftover beef of pork roast. You can serve this over brown rice, Chinese noodles, or by itself.

Provided by Cheryl England

Categories     Beef

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 c diced chicken breast, boneless beef or pork
1 can(s) pineapple chunks
2 Tbsp soy sauce
2 lb mixed vegetables of your choice, frozen

Steps:

  • 1. Brown in a large skillet: 1 pound of fresh beef, pork or chicken chunks
  • 2. Add: 1 can pineapple chucks with juice 2 Tablespoons soy sauce Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • 3. Add: 2 bags of Normandy vegetable mix (Cauliflower, carrots, broccoli, zucchini) or you favorite stir fry vegetable mixture. Put a lid on the pan and turn down to low and steam for 5 minutes.

Tips

  • Choose your vegetables wisely: Vegetables should make up the bulk of your stir-fry, so choose a variety of colors and textures for a more flavorful and visually appealing dish. Some good options include broccoli, carrots, bell peppers, snap peas, and bok choy.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: If you add too many vegetables to the pan at once, they will steam instead of stir-frying. This will result in a soggy, mushy dish. Instead, cook the vegetables in batches, adding more as the previous batch becomes tender.
  • Use a high heat: Stir-frying is a quick-cooking method, so it's essential to use high heat. This will help to sear the vegetables and keep them crisp.
  • Stir constantly: Stirring the vegetables constantly will help to prevent them from burning or sticking to the pan. It will also help to distribute the heat evenly throughout the dish.
  • Add the sauce at the end: Stir-fry sauces are typically made with a combination of soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Wait until the vegetables are almost cooked before adding the sauce. This will help to prevent the sauce from burning or becoming too thick.
  • Serve immediately: Stir-fry is best served immediately after cooking. This will help to preserve the vegetables' crisp texture and flavor.

Conclusion

Stir-fry is a delicious, healthy, and easy-to-make dish. By following these tips, you can create a perfect stir-fry every time. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy weeknight meal, give stir-fry a try. You won't be disappointed!
