1/2 cup packed brown sugar

  • Place onion in a 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Rub ribs with garlic and sprinkle with salt and pepper; place over onion. Pour 1/4 cup water around ribs. Cover and bake at 350° for 30 minutes. 1 carrot, thickly sliced
1 stalk celery, thickly sliced

1 cup canned pineapple juice
1 cup chicken stock or broth
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 green onions, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Place the ribs in a large pot, cover with cold water and add the salt, carrot, celery, onion, garlic and ginger. Bring the ribs to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer until the ribs are very tender but not completely falling off the bone, about 45 minutes.

4 green onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped
1 orange, zested and juiced, plus orange slices, for serving
One 10-ounce bottle teriyaki sauce
2 pounds Korean-style short ribs (beef chuck flanken cut into 1/3- to 1/2-inch-thick slices across the bones)
Toasted sesame seeds, for garnish

  • In a large resealable bag, combine the ginger, half of the green onions, the garlic, jalapeno, orange zest and juice, teriyaki sauce and short ribs. I used this sauce on ribs, and they are absolutely to die for, and the BEST ribs I have ever had the pleasure of making and eating... This recipe is heaven sent, especially for us rib lovers, using 3 racks of baby back ribs! I double the sauce, and use every last bit. Any sauce that may be left over after basting, you can spoon on ribs right before serving. Definately one not to be missed!

1/3 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
1/4 cup low-sodium teriyaki sauce, I use Kikkomans
1/4 cup ketchup
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tablespoon ginger, minced

Steps:

  • Use with 3 baby back rib racks:.
  • In a lg. Dutch oven, combine ribs and cold water to cover. Bring to a boil over med-high heat.
  • Cover, remove from heat, and let stand for 30 minutes.
  • In a small saucepan, combine pineapple juice, teriyaki sauce, ketchup, garlic, and brown sugar.
  • Bring to a boil, stirring, over med-high heat. When it starts to boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Stir in ginger.
  • Remove from heat, and let cool.
  • Heat grill to med.
  • Drain ribs. Place on grill rack.
  • Brush with half of the sauce.
  • Grill 6" from heat, covered, for 5-7 minutes per side. (Watch carefully, so they don't burn)!
  • Brush with remaining sauce.

4 lbs spareribs, cut in serving size pieces
3/4 cup water
1 cup brown sugar
1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple (do not drain)
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup vinegar
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3/4 cup chili sauce
1 tablespoon yellow mustard

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Arrange ribs, meaty side down, in a foil lined pan.
  • Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
  • In a saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch.
  • Stir in vinegar, chili sauce, water, undrained pineapple, onion, soy sauce, and mustard.
  • Cook and stir over medium heat until thick and bubbly; cook and stir 2 minutes more.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and drain the fat from the ribs.

I had these ribs while in Hawaii. It's not your normal ketchup BBQ sauce. The secret is the asian shoyu sauce. I marinate them over night and cook them on the BBQ in a flash. They are a MUST try. I served 10# of them at a recent BBQ as the main meat and they were gone in a flash! Mahalo!

1 bottle 64 oz. hawaiian bar-b-que sauce (from costco)

Steps:

  • 1. I have my local market cut these for me when doing a big BBQ. I get a 10 lb. bag of them and put them individually in a large aluminum pan and pour the Hawaiian BBQ Sauce over them individually so each one can soak up the marinade well. You can marinate from 1 hour to 24 hours, the longer you marinate, the more flavor you will taste in the ribs.
  • 2. Next day,cook the ribs on grill about 5-7 minutes. So easy and fast! Serve with your favorite BBQ side dishes.
