Steps:
- For the steak: Trim excess fat along the edge of the steak. This will help prevent grill flare ups and over charring. Pat the steak dry. Brush with avocado oil
- For the Hawaiian seasoning salt: To a small bowl add Hawaiian salt, 'alaea salt, garlic powder, ginger powder, pepper, and onion powder. Mix until well combined.
- Liberally season the steak with about 2 teaspoons of Hawaiian seasoning salt. Set aside and allow to rest 20-30min prior to grilling.
- Heat half of the grill (if using charcoal/wood, place on half the grill, or if using burners light ½ of the burners only) to high, about 500F.
- Place steaks directly over the flame and sear for 3-5 minutes. Flip and repeat on the other side.
- Move steak to the unlight side of the grill, close the lid, and cook until desired doneness temperature. For rare 120F, medium rare 130F, medium 135F, medium well 140F, and well done 150F.
- Remove steaks from the grill and place on a cutting board. Tent with a piece of foil and allow to rest for 5 minutes before slicing. ENJOY!

THE BEST BEEF TRI-TIP
I received a food wish for roast beef recently, which can be done with many different cuts. I ended up deciding on beef tri-tip, since it's affordable, flavorful, great for parties, and, using this low-temp roasting technique, nearly fool-proof. No marinating, no searing, no nothing; just rub on some salt and spices and pop it into the oven until it reaches the doneness you want. Plate it up with a Romano bean salad or enjoy as a roast beef sandwich!

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 225 degrees F (110 degrees C).
- Mix salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, dried rosemary, and fresh rosemary together in a small bowl.
- Place tri-tip in a baking pan. Season generously with the spice rub until both sides are completely covered.
- Bake in the preheated oven until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part reads 130 degrees F (54 degrees C) for medium-rare, or until desired doneness, 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Flip meat over halfway.
- Cover pan with aluminum foil and let meat rest for 20 minutes. Remove tri-tip to a cutting board and cut into 2 pieces along where the grain changes direction. Slice meat across the grain and transfer to serving plates.
- Mix beef broth in with the pan drippings and drizzle over the slices.

SOUTHWESTERN TRI-TIP STEAKS
Loaded with cilantro and lime, this tri-tip steak is marinated in beer, wine and spices. The recipe as it stands produces a pretty mild result. Choose a dark beer for a richer flavor and, to increase the heat level, add more red pepper flakes or toss in a chopped up jalapeno pepper. (The seeds and membranes hold the most heat in a pepper, so you can further adjust heat levels that way.)

Tips:
- For the best flavor, use a good quality tri-tip steak. Look for one that is well-marbled and has a deep red color.
- Be sure to marinate the steak for at least 2 hours, or up to overnight. This will help to tenderize the meat and infuse it with flavor.
- When grilling the steak, be sure to cook it over medium-high heat. This will help to create a nice crust on the outside of the steak while keeping the inside juicy and tender.
- Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing it. This will help to keep the juices from running out.
- Serve the steak with your favorite sides, such as grilled vegetables, rice, or potatoes.
Conclusion:
Hawaiian Pulehu Tri-Tip Steak is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. The steak is tender and juicy, with a slightly sweet and smoky flavor. The marinade is simple to make and can be used on other types of steak as well. This dish is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
