Categories     Fish

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 pounds fresh tuna steaks, cubed
1/2 cup soy sauce
3/4 cup chopped green onions 2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
1/2 tablespoon crushed red pepper (optional)

Steps:

  • In a medium size non-reactive bowl, combine Ahi, soy sauce, green onions, sesame oil, sesame seeds, and chili pepper; mix well. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality ahi tuna. Look for tuna that is bright red and firm to the touch.
  • Cut the tuna into small cubes. This will help the marinade to penetrate the fish more easily.
  • Use a good quality soy sauce. A dark, aged soy sauce will give the poke a more complex flavor.
  • Don't over-marinate the tuna. 30 minutes is usually long enough, but you can marinate it for up to overnight if you like a stronger flavor.
  • Serve the poke with a variety of toppings and sides. Some popular options include avocado, cucumber, seaweed salad, and rice.
  • Conclusion:

Hawaiian ahi poke is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. With its fresh, flavorful ingredients and endless possibilities for toppings and sides, poke is a dish that everyone will enjoy. So next time you're looking for something new and exciting to try, give Hawaiian ahi poke a try. You won't be disappointed!
