Tips:
- Choose the right ground beef: 80/20 ground beef is ideal for this recipe, as it has a good balance of fat and lean meat. You can also use a leaner ground beef, such as 90/10, but it may be a little drier.
- Season the ground beef generously: Don't be afraid to add plenty of salt and pepper to the ground beef before cooking. This will help to bring out the flavor of the meat.
- Cook the ground beef until it is browned all the way through: This will help to ensure that the meat is cooked safely and that it has a nice, crispy texture.
- Use a good quality cheese: A sharp cheddar cheese is a classic choice for this recipe, but you can also use other types of cheese, such as mozzarella, provolone, or Swiss.
- Don't overcook the potatoes: The potatoes should be cooked until they are tender, but not mushy. You can check the potatoes by piercing them with a fork. If the fork goes through easily, the potatoes are done.
Conclusion:
This hamburger and potato all-in-one meal is a quick and easy dish that is perfect for a busy weeknight dinner. It is also a great way to use up leftover mashed potatoes. The combination of ground beef, potatoes, cheese, and vegetables makes this a hearty and satisfying meal that the whole family will enjoy.
