Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Gather and measure all ingredients before starting to cook. This will help ensure you have everything you need and prevent scrambling during the cooking process.
  • Use Deli Ham and Swiss Cheese: Deli ham and Swiss cheese are classic fillings for pinwheels, and they provide a delicious, savory flavor. You can also experiment with other fillings, such as turkey, roast beef, or provolone cheese.
  • Use a Sharp Knife: A sharp knife will make it easier to slice the ham and cheese thinly. This will help ensure the pinwheels are evenly cooked and have a nice texture.
  • Roll the Pinwheels Tightly: Roll the pinwheels tightly so that they hold their shape during baking. If the pinwheels are rolled too loosely, they may fall apart in the oven.
  • Chill the Pinwheels Before Baking: Chilling the pinwheels before baking will help them hold their shape even better. You can chill them for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
  • Bake the Pinwheels Until Golden Brown: Bake the pinwheels until they are golden brown on top. This will ensure they are cooked through and have a crispy exterior.

Conclusion:

Ham and Swiss pinwheels are a delicious, easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. They are made with simple ingredients that you probably already have on hand, and they can be prepared in just a few minutes. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy snack or appetizer, give ham and Swiss pinwheels a try. They are sure to be a hit with your friends and family!
