Tips:
- Choose the Right Meat: For a flavorful and moist meatloaf, use a combination of ground beef and ground pork.
- Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh vegetables, herbs, and cheese will give your meatloaf the best flavor.
- Don't Overmix: Overmixing the meatloaf mixture can result in a tough texture. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Shape the Meatloaf Properly: Form the meatloaf mixture into a loaf shape that is about 9x5 inches and 2 inches high. This will ensure that it cooks evenly.
- Use a Meat Thermometer: Insert a meat thermometer into the center of the meatloaf to ensure that it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). This will ensure that it is cooked through but still moist.
- Let the Meatloaf Rest: After cooking, let the meatloaf rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. This will help the juices redistribute and make the meatloaf easier to slice.
