Tips:

  • For the perfect ham roll, choose thinly sliced ham that is easy to work with and won't tear. Look for ham that is about 1/8-inch thick.
  • If your ham slices are too thick, you can pound them out with a meat mallet until they are the desired thickness.
  • To make your ham rolls more flavorful, marinate the ham in a mixture of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, and herbs before cooking.
  • When choosing asparagus, look for spears that are bright green and have tightly closed tips. Avoid spears that are limp or have yellow or brown spots.
  • To prevent the asparagus from becoming soggy, cook it just until it is tender-crisp. About 2-3 minutes in boiling water is usually sufficient.
  • Feel free to get creative with your fillings. You can use different types of cheese, vegetables, and even fruit to create unique and delicious ham rolls.
  • To make your ham rolls ahead of time, assemble them and then wrap them tightly in plastic wrap. Store them in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking.

Conclusion:

Ham and asparagus rolls are a delicious and versatile dish that can be served as an appetizer, main course, or even a side dish. They are easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With a little creativity, you can create a ham roll that is sure to impress your friends and family.
