HAM AND VEGETABLE PASTA

Ham and Vegetable Pasta image

This recipe started with the question of what to do with leftover ham. It's an adapted recipe from Taste of Home. Although very rich, we loved the mix of fresh vegetables with the ham in a cream-based sauce. I'm going to try the recipe again, lightening the sauce by using half and half with chicken broth to replace the cream.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients. This will make a big difference in the flavor of your dish.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan. If you do, the vegetables will not cook evenly and will become mushy.
  • Cook the vegetables until they are tender-crisp. You don't want them to be too soft or they will lose their flavor.
  • Use a good quality ham. A smoky ham will add a lot of flavor to the dish.
  • Don't overcook the pasta. It should be cooked al dente, or slightly firm to the bite.
  • Serve the dish immediately. This will ensure that the pasta is hot and the vegetables are still crisp.

Conclusion:

This ham and vegetable linguine is a quick and easy weeknight meal that is packed with flavor. It is a great way to use up leftover ham and vegetables, and it is also a healthy and affordable meal. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy dinner, give this ham and vegetable linguine a try. You won't be disappointed!
