1 lb lean ground beef
1 c onion, chopped
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp oregano, dried
1/4 tsp thyme, dried
1 c tomato sauce
1/2 c sour cream
1/3 c grated parmesan cheese
1 tube(s) crescent dinner rolls
2 Tbsp butter, melted
6 oz . (1 1/2 cups) shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 375°F. In large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes or until beef is thoroughly cooked, stirring frequently. Drain. Stir in tomato sauce, add oregeno, garlic & thyme; cook until thoroughly heated.
  • 2. Meanwhile, in medium bowl, combine mozzarella cheese and sour cream; mix well.
  • 3. Pour hot beef mixture into ungreased 9 1/2 or 10-inch glass deep-dish pie pan glass baking dish. Spoon cheese mixture over beef mixture.
  • 4. Unroll dough over cheese mixture. In small bowl, mix Parmesan cheese and butter. Spread evenly over dough.
  • 5. Bake at 375°F. for 18 to 25 minutes or until deep golden brown.

Tips:

  • For a crispier crust, brush the top of the casserole with melted butter before baking.
  • If you don't have crescent roll dough, you can use puff pastry dough instead.
  • You can use any type of ground beef in this recipe, but I recommend using a leaner ground beef so that the casserole isn't too greasy.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables to this casserole, such as chopped onions, green peppers, or mushrooms.
  • If you're short on time, you can use a pre-made taco seasoning packet instead of making your own.

Conclusion:

This Ground Beef Crescent Casserole is a quick and easy meal that the whole family will love. It's perfect for busy weeknights or for feeding a crowd. The crescent roll dough gives the casserole a crispy crust, while the ground beef, taco seasoning, and cheese filling is hearty and flavorful. This casserole is sure to be a hit at your next potluck or party.
