Steps:
- Whisk soy sauce, oil, sugar, garlic, tomato paste, paprika, pepper, and cayenne together in bowl until sugar dissolves; transfer to zipper-lock bag. Pat beef dry with paper towels. Prick beef all over with fork and cut into 2 1/2-inch pieces. Add meat to bag with soy mixture and refrigerate for 2 to 24 hours, turning occasionally. For a charcoal grill: Open bottom grill vents completely. Light large chimney starter filled with charcoal briquettes (6 quarts). When top coals are partially covered with ash, pour evenly over grill. Set cooking grate in place, cover, and open lid vents completely. Heat grill until hot, about 5 minutes. For a gas grill: Turn all burners to high, cover, and heat grill until hot, about 15 minutes. Clean and oil cooking grate. Cook beef (covered if using gas) until charred and registers 130 to 135°F (for medium), 8 to 10 minutes. Transfer meat to platter, tent loosely with foil, and rest for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve. Note: We flipped the steaks at 4 minutes, and they were temperature ready at 8 minutes.
Tips:
- Choose the right steak tips: Look for flank steak, skirt steak, or sirloin steak tips. These cuts are all relatively tender and flavorful, and they cook quickly over high heat.
- Marinate the steak tips: Marinating the steak tips in a flavorful marinade will help to tenderize them and add flavor. You can use a simple marinade made with olive oil, garlic, and herbs, or you can get more creative with your ingredients.
- Cook the steak tips over high heat: The key to grilling steak tips is to cook them over high heat. This will help to sear the outside of the steak tips and keep them juicy and flavorful on the inside.
- Don't overcook the steak tips: Steak tips are best when they are cooked to medium-rare or medium. Overcooking will make them tough and dry.
- Let the steak tips rest before serving: Once the steak tips are cooked, let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, making it more tender and flavorful.
Conclusion:
Grilling steak tips is a quick and easy way to enjoy a delicious and flavorful meal. By following these tips, you can grill steak tips that are tender, juicy, and flavorful. Serve them with your favorite sides, such as grilled vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a salad, and you'll have a meal that everyone will love.
