1 pound large or jumbo shrimp (peeled, tail on, and deveined)
salt and pepper
For the marinade:
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon minced garlic (or more to taste)
juice of 1/2 of a fresh lemon (about 2 tablespoons)
2 tablespoons gochujang
1 tablespoon sugar or honey
For the garnish:
finely chopped scallions or chives for garnish (optional)
Bamboo/wood skewers

Steps:

  • Soak the wooden skewers in water while preparing the shrimp. Peel and devein the shrimp if they are shell-on. Rinse the shrimp and drain well (or pat dry). Thread 3 or 4 shrimps on to the skewers. Lightly sprinkle them with salt and pepper.
  • Mix all the marinade ingredients well in a bowl.
  • Spoon (or brush) the marinade all over the shrimp to coat evenly. Let stand for about 30 minutes.

2 pounds shrimp, shell off, tail on
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
3 tablespoons honey
4 cloves garlic, minced or grated
2 tablespoons gochujang
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
juice of half a lemon
2 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
1/3 cup fresh orange juice
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, roughly chopped
1 fresno pepper, sliced

Steps:

  • 1. In a large ziplock bag, combine the soy sauce, honey, garlic, gochujang, sesame oil, and lemon juice. Add the shrimp, seal the bag and toss to coat. If desired, you can marinate the shrimp for up to 24 hours, but it's not imperative. 2. To make the citrus butter. In a small sauce pan, combine the butter, orange juice, and lemon juice and cook over medium heat until the sauce is melted and smooth. Remove from the heat and stir in the cilantro and chiles. 3. 2 tablespoons coarse salt
2 tablespoons freshly ground pepper
2 tablespoons peanut oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons sesame oil

Steps:

  • Rinse the shrimp, pat them dry (leaving the shells on) and toss them in a mixture of salt, pepper, peanut oil, garlic, ginger and red pepper. Preheat grill or broiler.

1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted

Steps:

  • In a resealable plastic bag, combine the soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, lemon juice, garlic powder and lemon-pepper; add shrimp. ¼ cup sesame oil
¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons hot sauce
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon Asian chile paste

1 teaspoon black pepper
3 tablespoons lemon juice
2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
12 wooden skewers, soaked in water
