Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality scallops. Look for scallops that are firm and plump, with no discoloration. Avoid any scallops that have a slimy texture or an off smell.
  • Pat the scallops dry before cooking. This will help them sear properly and prevent them from steaming.
  • Season the scallops simply with salt and pepper. You don't want to overwhelm the delicate flavor of the scallops.
  • Sear the scallops over high heat for 2-3 minutes per side. This will create a nice crust and cook the scallops through.
  • Don't overcook the scallops. They should be cooked through, but still slightly translucent in the center.
  • Serve the scallops immediately with your favorite sides. Some good options include grilled kale and olives, roasted vegetables, or a simple salad.

Conclusion:

Grilled scallops are a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed as an appetizer or main course. They are easy to make and can be cooked in just a few minutes. With their delicate flavor and tender texture, scallops are a seafood lover's delight. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give grilled scallops a try. You won't be disappointed!
