Tips:

  • Use a variety of potatoes. You can use any type of potato for this recipe, but some varieties work better than others. Waxy potatoes, such as Yukon Golds and new potatoes, hold their shape well and won't fall apart when grilled. Russet potatoes, on the other hand, are more starchy and will become fluffy and tender when grilled.
  • Don't overcook the potatoes. Grilled potatoes should be cooked until they are tender, but not mushy. The best way to check for doneness is to insert a fork into the potatoes. If the fork goes in easily, the potatoes are done.
  • Season the potatoes well. Grilled potatoes can be seasoned with a variety of herbs, spices, and sauces. Some popular options include olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, rosemary, thyme, and lemon zest.
  • Serve the potatoes immediately. Grilled potatoes are best served hot off the grill. You can serve them as a side dish or as a main course.

Conclusion:

Grilled potato packets are a delicious and easy way to enjoy potatoes. They are perfect for a summer cookout or a weeknight meal. With a little creativity, you can create endless variations of this recipe. So next time you're looking for a new way to cook potatoes, give grilled potato packets a try.
