GRILLED DILL SHRIMP WITH A SPICY KICK!!
Steps:
- In a large glass bowl combine the Shrimp, Kosher Salt, Red Pepper Flakes, Garlic and Dill. Mix ingredients with large spoon but be careful as the tails easily rip from the flesh (I just like the presentation better with the tails, but it doesn't matter for taste purpose). When all shrimp are well coated with ingredients drizzle olive oil over shrimp and mix again until fully coated. Heat a gas grill to medium high for 10-12 minutes. Grill should be about 425-450. I always spray the grill with Canola non-stick spray right before putting the shrimp on the grill. Lay the shrimp on the grill, cover and cook for 3:00 minutes and then turn. Close the lid again and let cook for another 3:00. Take them off immeidately and put into a bowl. Coat shrimp with Old Bay Seasoning depending on your taste. I like them nice and spicy so I load up on the old bay. Give them a quick mix and plate.
Tips:
- Use fresh shrimp: Fresh shrimp have a sweeter, more delicate flavor than frozen shrimp. If you're using frozen shrimp, thaw them in the refrigerator overnight or under cold running water for about 30 minutes.
- Marinate the shrimp: Marinating the shrimp in a flavorful mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and herbs helps to tenderize them and infuse them with flavor. You can marinate the shrimp for as little as 30 minutes or up to overnight.
- Use a hot grill: A hot grill will help to sear the shrimp and prevent them from sticking. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat before cooking the shrimp.
- Cook the shrimp quickly: Shrimp cook very quickly, so it's important to cook them over high heat for just a few minutes per side. Overcooking the shrimp will make them tough and rubbery.
- Serve the shrimp immediately: Grilled shrimp are best served immediately, while they're still hot and juicy. You can serve them with a variety of sides, such as rice, pasta, or grilled vegetables.
Conclusion:
Grilled dill shrimp with a spicy kick is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that's perfect for a summer cookout. The shrimp are marinated in a flavorful mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and herbs, then grilled to perfection. The spicy kick comes from a combination of cayenne pepper and Sriracha sauce. Serve the shrimp immediately with your favorite sides, such as rice, pasta, or grilled vegetables.
