GREEN DETOX SMOOTHIE
Super-easy and very healthy. Don't be put off by the color, this actually tastes pretty good and is great for digestion. I use coconut water instead of pineapple juice if I want to reduce the sugar and make the smoothie even healthier.

GREEN TEA BERRY SMOOTHIE
This is a wonderful, healthy smoothie from Delicious Living mag. Here's what they say: "When you absolutely need breakfast to go, try this super-powered smoothie. Green tea's antioxidants help prevent cancers, blocked arteries, and even tooth decay; flax provides healthy omega-3 fats; and berries offer fiber and vitamin C-all served up in a tasty, easy-to-carry form." I adjusted it a bit by adding more flax and some oat bran. My 4 yo loves it too! It's not too thick and not too thin, just right.

MATCHA GREEN TEA SMOOTHIE OR ICED LATTE
If you've read a newspaper or watched the news recently you've probably heard about all the health benefits of drinking Green Tea. It has tons of antioxidents and helps boost metabolism and helps you burn more fat and thus lose more weight. I enjoy drinking green tea and occasionally I enjoy a Starbucks Green Tea Frappuccino, or a Jamba Juice Matcha Smoothie Blast. This recipe is one I developed to be able to enjoy these smoothies at home. I think it tastes great and is really good for your health too. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Please note that this recipe does require premium matcha green tea powder. This is not just regular green tea leaves pulverized. This premium powder can be purchased at Japanese grocers, or online. I happen to purchase mine on that popular online auction site I'm sure you're familiar with. I use the "Usucha" (or thin) matcha green tea powder that comes straight from Kyoto, Japan. Feel free to contact me if you need help finding this tea and I can show you where to purchase it directly. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

Steps:
- Mix 1/2 tsp green tea powder in 2 ounces of hot water in a bowl. Stir with a whisk until completely dissolved.
- Stir in 3 teaspoons of sugar or sugar substitute (can adjust to taste).
- Add in 4 ounces of milk and stir.
- (Optional) Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla syrup, such as Torani or DaVinci brands.
- Add ice cubes and blend in a blender until smooth.
- Enjoy!
- Note: You could also drink this as a Matcha Green Tea Iced Latte by just pouring the mixture over ice instead of blending.
GREEN BANANA AND PEANUT BUTTER SMOOTHIE
I saw a Vitamix® demo the other day. Then I realized my Waring Pro® blender at home was already fully capable of the same smoothie greatness, so I got inspired to cram more nutrients into my life by blending them up. The resulting mixture is happy and bright green, but it tastes more like bananas and peanut butter. I can't taste the spinach (though I love it). If it's too thick, use more milk or/and less yogurt and peanut butter. Feel free to substitute nuts for your favorites.

Steps:
- Brew green tea in 1/2 cup water, heated to 180degrees for 4 min., remove leaves, let cool.
- Blend ice, peach, banana, honey and ginger until smooth.
- Right before serving stir in green tea; serve immediately.
Tips:
- Choose the right leafy greens: Dark, leafy greens like spinach, kale, and romaine lettuce are packed with nutrients and antioxidants.
- Use frozen fruit: Frozen fruit is just as nutritious as fresh fruit, and it's often more affordable. Plus, it helps keep your smoothie cold and refreshing.
- Add a healthy fat: Healthy fats like avocado, nuts, and seeds help you absorb the nutrients in your smoothie and keep you feeling satisfied.
- Don't add too much liquid: A good ratio of liquid to solids is 1:2. Too much liquid will make your smoothie watery and thin.
- Blend until smooth: Use a high-powered blender to blend your smoothie until it's completely smooth. This will help you absorb the nutrients more easily.
Conclusion:
Green smoothies are a delicious and nutritious way to start your day or refuel after a workout. They're packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. By following these tips, you can make sure your green smoothie is as healthy and delicious as possible.
