Tips:

  • Choose fresh green beans: Look for green beans that are bright green and crisp. Avoid beans that are limp or have brown spots.
  • Trim the green beans: Trim the ends of the green beans before cooking. You can also remove the strings from the beans if desired.
  • Blanch the green beans: Blanching the green beans before stir-frying helps to preserve their color and crispness. To blanch the beans, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until they are bright green. Immediately transfer the beans to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
  • Use a hot wok or skillet: A hot wok or skillet is essential for stir-frying. The high heat will help to sear the green beans and prevent them from becoming mushy.
  • Add the aromatics first: When stir-frying, add the aromatics, such as garlic, ginger, and shallots, to the wok or skillet first. This will help to release their flavor and fragrance.
  • Stir-fry the green beans in batches: If you are cooking a large batch of green beans, stir-fry them in batches. This will help to prevent the beans from becoming overcrowded and mushy.
  • Season the green beans to taste: Once the green beans are cooked, season them to taste with salt, pepper, and other desired seasonings.

Conclusion:

Green beans with rosemary orange glaze is a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that is perfect for any occasion. The combination of sweet and tangy flavors from the orange glaze complements the crispness of the green beans.
