The original recipe for these burgers called for lamb or beef, but I decided to try ground chicken to decrease the fat. The sauce easily doubles as a flavorful dip for veggies and pita chips. -Judy Puskas, Wallaceburg, Ontario

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: Fresh, flavorful ingredients will result in the best-tasting burgers. Look for ground chicken that is made from organic, free-range chickens.
  • Season the chicken well: A good blend of spices and herbs will add depth of flavor to the burgers. Be sure to use a generous amount of salt and pepper.
  • Don't overmix the chicken: Overmixing the chicken will make the burgers tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
  • Form the burgers gently: Use your hands to gently form the burgers into patties. Avoid pressing down on the burgers, as this will also make them tough.
  • Cook the burgers over medium heat: Cooking the burgers over medium heat will help them cook evenly and prevent them from drying out.
  • Use a meat thermometer: The best way to ensure that the burgers are cooked through is to use a meat thermometer. Cook the burgers until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the burgers rest before serving: Letting the burgers rest for a few minutes before serving will help them retain their juices.

Conclusion:

Greek-style chicken burgers are a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional beef burgers. They are packed with flavor and can be easily customized to suit your own taste. Whether you serve them on a bun with your favorite toppings or enjoy them as a lettuce wrap, these burgers are sure to be a hit.
