GREEK-STYLE CHICKEN BURGERS
The original recipe for these burgers called for lamb or beef, but I decided to try ground chicken to decrease the fat. The sauce easily doubles as a flavorful dip for veggies and pita chips. -Judy Puskas, Wallaceburg, Ontario

GREEK-STYLE FETA AND OLIVE SPREAD (FOR BURGERS, STEAKS AND FISH)
This spread is so good on grilled steaks, pork and turkey burgers, I use it all the time topped on my salmon patties (recipe #155183) in between a bun. You can use it on just about anything! All the ingredients should be adjusted to taste. Plan ahead this needs to chill for a minimum of 5 hours, overnight is even better, this get stronger with chilling time, so be careful with the fresh garlic, it can be too overpowering in this spread if you make the mistake of adding in to much while making it... start with adding in a small amount and chill for about 3 hours if you feel that you want more garlic flavor then mix in more. You can add in salt, but the feta and olives are very salty.

Steps:
- 1. Mix all of the ingredients except the feta in a mixing bowl until well combined.
- 2. Divide the meat into 8 chunks. Roll 1 chunk into a ball and then press it out into the shape of a patty in the palm of your hand.
- 3. Press the feta on top of the meat patty. Take another chunk and form a patty with it as well, and then press on top of the feta covered one. Repeat with the rest of the meat.
- 4. Fry on medium heat for about ten minutes, until well browned. Flip over and fry for another ten minutes or so. Make sure that the meat is well cooked. If you cook it on too high of a heat it might burn on the outside but might not be done on the inside.
- 5. When the weather is right we grill these Greek Burgers outside on the grill, either way they are delicious.
Tips:
- To make the perfect burger patty, use a blend of ground beef and ground lamb. The lamb adds a delicious flavor to the burger.
- Season the burger patties liberally with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. You can also add other herbs and spices to taste.
- Don't overcook the burger patties. They should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit for medium-rare, 165 degrees Fahrenheit for medium, or 170 degrees Fahrenheit for well-done.
- Toast the burger buns before assembling the burgers. This will help the buns hold up better and prevent them from getting soggy.
- Top the burgers with your favorite toppings. Some popular choices include lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, and tzatziki sauce.
Conclusion:
Greek-style burgers are a delicious and easy-to-make meal. They are perfect for a summer cookout or a quick weeknight dinner. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a flavorful and satisfying burger that everyone will love. So next time you're looking for a new burger recipe, give Greek-style burgers a try.
