A delicious stuffed banana peppers recipe filled with chopped beef, melty cheese and lots of seasonings. Great for an easy dinner, side dish, or party platter.

10 banana peppers (or more as needed, depending on the size)
1 tablespoon olive oil
8 ounces beef or steak (finely chopped (*))
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
4 ounces shredded gouda cheese (or use your favorite melty cheese)

Steps:

  • Heat an oven to 400 degrees.
  • Slice the banana peppers in half lengthwise and core them out. Set them onto a large baking sheet.
  • Heat the oil in a medium pan and add the chopped steak. Season with garlic, paprika, salt and pepper. Cook about 5 minutes, or until the beef/steak is cooked to your liking.
  • Spoon the seasoned beef mixture into the peppers, then top each with shredded cheese.
  • Bake for 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can grill the stuffed banana peppers for 15 minutes, or broil them for 6-7 minutes, until the cheeses are nice and melty.
  • Remove from heat and set onto serving plates.
  • Top with chopped green onion, spicy chili flakes and hot sauce, if desired.

1 pound hot ground Italian Sausage, roasted and chopped fine
1/2 cup Locatelli Romano cheese
1/2 cup bread crumbs
Salt and pepper to taste
1 large egg
Olive oil to saute
4 banana peppers (Hungarian hots or mild as preferred)
1 cup marinara sauce, heated for service
Wedge dry ricotta cheese

Steps:

  • Mix sausage, cheese, bread crumbs, salt and pepper, and egg together in mixing bowl. Season to taste. Adjust mixture with additional cheese and bread crumbs if too dry or moist - medium moisture for stuffing desired. Make a radial slice around the top of the banana pepper leaving the top intact. Pull back top and remove seeds if so desired. Gently stuff mixture into peppers. Place olive oil in hot saute pan. Gently place peppers in the pan and fry each side until browned. Place marinara sauce in middle of plate. Arrange peppers on top of marinara and grate the dry ricotta cheese on top of the hot peppers.

4 Medium Yellow Banana Peppers
¾ cup Feta cheese
1 tsp Red chili flakes
1 tsp Chopped fresh cilantro
1.50 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp Shaved pecorino romano or kefalotyri
½ Chopped shallot
1 dash Freshly ground black pepper
1.50 cups Ripe cherry tomatoes
⅓ tsp Freshly ground black pepper
⅓ tsp Himalayan salt
1 tsp Extra virgin olive oil
2 pinches Chopped fresh cilantro

Steps:

  • Mash filling ingredients by hand in a bowl or mix in a blender or food processor. The consistency should be very thick. Add small amounts of olive oil gradually if necessary.
  • Cut off the tops of the peppers and remove the seeds. Spoon filling into the peppers or pipe into peppers using a pastry bag. Replace the tops of the peppers once filled.
  • Mix all topping ingredients excluding the fresh cilantro. Place filled peppers in oven-safe container and top with cherry tomato mixture. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
  • To brown, broil for 1-2 minutes in the oven. Remove from oven and top with fresh cilantro.

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
½ cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes
3 cloves garlic, minced, or more to taste
1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
10 banana peppers
10 slices peppered bacon, or to taste

Steps:

  • Soak toothpicks in water for 15 minutes.
  • Combine cream cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, and cilantro in a large bowl. Mix well.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat and lightly oil the grate.
  • Cut a slit lengthwise through each pepper without slicing it in half. Cut another slit about 1/4 inch from the stem across the previous slit, forming a 'T'. Remove seeds, as desired, using a paring knife.

1 small fennel bulb, chopped
1 small red onion, chopped
1 package (10 ounces) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry

2 each medium sweet yellow, orange, red and green peppers
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes, divided
1 pound ground lamb
1 cup cooked barley
1 cup crumbled feta cheese, plus more for serving
1/2 cup Greek olives, chopped
1-1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Chopped fresh parsley, optional

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add fennel and onion; cook and stir until tender, 6-8 minutes. Add spinach and garlic; cook 1 minute longer. 4 large red bell peppers, tops removed, seeded
1 tablespoon olive oil
½ pound ground pork
2 onions, chopped

¼ cup dry white wine
1 (10.75 ounce) can tomato puree
1 (4 ounce) package feta cheese
½ cup cooked white rice
½ cup raisins
½ cup pine nuts
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place green and red bell peppers in a bowl with enough warm water to cover, and soak 5 minutes.
  • Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place pork and onions in the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pork is evenly brown. Drain grease, and mix in wine and tomato puree. Continue cooking 10 minutes.
  • Transfer skillet mixture to a large bowl, and mix in feta cheese, cooked rice, raisins, pine nuts, and parsley. Stuff peppers with the mixture, and arrange in a baking dish. Cover with aluminum foil.
  • Bake 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove foil, and continue baking 10 minutes, until stuffing is lightly browned. May be served hot or cold.

8 banana peppers
2 tablespoons butter
½ cup chopped onion
½ cup chopped celery
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 ½ teaspoons salt, divided
½ teaspoon ground black pepper, divided
1 egg
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 pound hot Italian sausage
1 pound mild Italian sausage
1 ½ cups bread crumbs

Steps:

  • Cut off tops of peppers, and remove ribs and seeds. Chop edible portions of tops; set aside. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add peppers, reduce heat, and simmer until tender but still firm, about 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat butter in a medium skillet. Saute reserved chopped pepper, onion and celery until tender, 3 to 5 minutes. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce and garlic. Season with basil, oregano, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Simmer uncovered for 10 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, combine egg, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, Worcestershire sauce and Parmesan. Mix in hot sausage, mild sausage, bread crumbs and 1 cup of the tomato sauce mixture.
