Time 5m

Yield Makes 1

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 tablespoon clover or orange-blossom honey
1 tablespoon very hot water (from the tap)
2 ounces blanco tequila
1 strip peeled pink grapefruit rind plus 2 ounces fresh juice
3/4 ounce fresh lime juice

Steps:

  • In the bottom of a cocktail shaker, stir honey with 1 tablespoon very hot water (from the tap) until dissolved. Fill shaker halfway with ice and top with tequila, grapefruit juice, and lime juice. Shake vigorously until outside of shaker is cold and frosty, about 10 seconds.
  • Strain into a tall, narrow glass, such as a Collins, filled with crushed ice. Stir with a swizzle stick or straw until glass turns frosty, about 10 seconds. Garnish with grapefruit rind; serve immediately.

Tips:

  • Choose the right grapefruit: Use fresh, ripe grapefruit with a deep pink or red color. Avoid grapefruit that is green or has blemishes.
  • Use fresh lime juice: Fresh lime juice adds a bright, citrusy flavor to the margarita. Avoid using bottled or concentrated lime juice.
  • Use good quality tequila: A good quality tequila will make a big difference in the flavor of the margarita. Look for a tequila that is 100% agave and has a smooth, clean flavor.
  • Don't over-shake the margarita: Over-shaking the margarita will make it cloudy and dilute the flavor. Shake the margarita just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Serve the margarita immediately: Margaritas are best enjoyed fresh. Serve them immediately after making them.

Conclusion:

The Grapefruit Margarita is a refreshing and flavorful cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. With its tart and tangy flavor, this margarita is sure to please everyone. Whether you are enjoying a night out with friends or just relaxing at home, the Grapefruit Margarita is the perfect drink to sip on.
