⅓ cup brown sugar

Tips:

  • Use a sharp knife or mandoline to thinly slice the cabbage and carrots. This will help the slaw to marinate evenly and absorb the flavors of the dressing.
  • If you don't have a mandoline, you can use a food processor fitted with the slicing disc. Just be careful not to over-process the vegetables, or they will become mushy.
  • To make the dressing, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper in a small bowl until well combined. You can also add a teaspoon of Dijon mustard or mayonnaise for a richer flavor.
  • Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots and toss to coat. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
  • Serve the slaw chilled, garnished with fresh parsley or dill.

Conclusion:

Granny's Italian Slaw is a delicious and refreshing side dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. Whether you like it sweet, tangy, or spicy, this slaw is sure to please everyone at the table.
