1 medium cauliflower
4 tablespoons butter or 4 tablespoons margarine
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream

Steps:

  • Cut cauliflower into florets (about 3 cups). Cook in boiling salted water to cover 10 to 12 minutes, or until tender; drain and set aside.

  • Stir cauliflower, ham and mushrooms into cheese sauce; pour into a 2-quart baking dish. Sprinkle breadcrumbs evenly over casserole. Cut 1 tablespoon butter into pieces and sprinkle evenly over breadcrumbs.

  • Use high-quality ingredients. Fresh, flavorful ingredients will make a big difference in the final dish. Look for a good-quality ham that is not too salty, and use fresh artichoke hearts for the best flavor.
