GRANDMOTHER'S HAM LOAF
This is a meat loaf made with ham that features a mustard glaze instead of the usual ketchup type on beef meat loaves. It makes a lot and leftovers make great sandwiches. If you want a ham loaf that really goes bang, substitute the recipe for Pirate's Pantry Hot Mustard Sauce (posted separately) for the glaze in this recipe.

GRAM'S HAM LOAF
Famous Western Pennsylvania Ham Loaf. Perfect way to use up left over smoked ham after Christmas or Easter. Be sure to serve it with a generous amount of sauce. We use a hand-held meat grinder that belonged to my husband's great-grandmother - doesn't take long and is somewhat nostalgic.

HAM LOAF
"I COPIED this recipe exactly the way Grandma has written it in her worn cookbook. The only difference today is that I can't get home-smoked ham like those Grandpa used to cure in his old-fashioned smokehouse. But that never matters to hungry folks at the table-Grandma's recipe is a winner every time!"

Tips:
- Use high-quality ground ham for the best flavor and texture.
- Do not overmix the meatloaf mixture, as this can make it tough. Just mix until the ingredients are well combined.
- Be careful not to overcook the meatloaf, as this can also make it tough. Cook it until it reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the loaf and make it easier to slice.
- Serve the meatloaf with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, green beans, or a salad.
