1-1/4 cups warm whole milk (70° to 80°)
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons butter, softened
2 tablespoons sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
3 cups bread flour
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
3/4 cup golden raisins
3/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup dried currants
1-1/2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
GLAZE:
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons 2% milk
1 teaspoon butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • In bread machine pan, place the first seven ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select basic bread setting. Choose crust color and loaf size if available. Bake according to bread machine directions (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed)., Just before the final kneading (your bread machine may audibly signal this), add the raisins, currants and lemon zest. Number Of Ingredients 10

1-1/2 cups boiling water
1 tablespoon butter
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup old-fashioned oats
2 packages (1/4 ounce each) active dry yeast
3/4 cup warm water (110° to 115°)
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
6 to 6-1/2 cups all-purpose flour, divided

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the boiling water, butter, salt and sugar. Stir in oats; cool to lukewarm. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in the molasses, brown sugar and 1 cup flour. Beat until smooth. 3 cups warm water
3 tablespoons active dry yeast
3 teaspoons salt
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
½ cup white sugar
8 cups bread flour

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, salt, oil, sugar, and 4 cups flour. Mix thoroughly, and let sponge rise until doubled in size.
  • Gradually add about 4 cups flour, kneading until smooth. Place dough in a greased bowl, and turn several times to coat. Cover with a damp cloth. Allow to rise until doubled.

1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
1 ⅓ cups warm water (110 degrees to 115 degrees)
½ cup sugar, divided
1 cup milk
½ cup butter or margarine
1 tablespoon salt
1 cup mashed potatoes
2 large eggs eggs, beaten
5 cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup butter or margarine, melted
¾ cup sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine yeast, warm water and 1 teaspoon sugar; set aside. In a saucepan, heat milk, butter, salt and remaining sugar until butter melts. Remove from the heat; stir in potatoes until smooth. Cool to lukewarm; add eggs and mix well. To yeast mixture add the potato mixture and 5 cups flour. Starting at the narrow end, roll up into a loaf, sealing the edges and ends. Place in greased 8-1/2-in. x 4-1/2-in.x 2-1/2-in. loaf pans.
