Steps:
- 1. Combine butter and peanut butter until smooth.
- 2. Gradually add powdered sugar until well combined. You may need to dump onto a piece of wax paper and knead until all combined (especially if peanut butter is on the dryer side. Jif and Planter's are moister and work well).
- 3. Pinch off little pieces of the dough and roll into balls. Place rolled balls on a wax lined cookie sheet. Once cookie sheet is full place in freezer. Continue rolling balls until all the dough is gone. Then place that cookie sheet in freezer.
- 4. In a double boiler melt chocolate and paraffin wax until completely melted.
- 5. Take out first cookie sheet only. Stick a toothpick or a skewer in a ball and dip into the chocolate mixture, rolling it to make sure they are completely covered. Place back on tray. Repeat. (I use several toothpick to let the chocolate harden)
- 6. *If you start to run out of chocolate I take small chunks of wax and a handful of chocolate and remelt it. Repeat if needed.
PEANUT BUTTER AND GRAHAM BON BONS
Fun little bon bons for a Holiday tray or to curb the "gotta have some peanut butter and chocolate" cravings. I make them pretty small - about 1/2 tablespoon of bon bon dough but that is just a personal preference. I have also frozen them before I dipped them in the chocolate so they don't lose their shape. I made these cookies for an Indoor Garage Sale event and sold out in no time. They are easy to make, and the recipe is in my Self Published cookbook. Steps:
- 1. In a medium bowl combine melted butter, graham cracker crumbs, peanut butter, chopped pecans, shredded coconut, powdered sugar and vanilla. If you prefer a more peanutty flavor, you can increase the peanut butter to 2 cups. Mix well.
- 2. Roll into small balls about 1 inch in diameter. Chill in refrigerator till hardened.
- 3. In a double boiler, melt chocolate chips and parrafin. Stick tooth pick in each ball, and dip in melted chocolate. Place on wax paper to cool. Makes about 5 dozen.
- 4. NOTE: I made several flavors on the day I made these, I made dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, and white chocolate. Then I combined what was left of the dark chocolate with the white chocolate, and drizzeled it over the white chocolate. They were all a big hit. Some I even did a double dip after the first coat hardened, they got bigger, and everyone loved them. I hope you enjoy as well.
- 5. Also note that Parrafin is usually found in the baking section of most large supermarkets, and is used often in candy making, it firms up the chocolate where it hardens better, and product takes on a much glossier finish. I love using this product in candy making. Make a variety of milk and dark Chocolate use your imagination.

Tips:
- Use a food processor to grind the graham crackers into fine crumbs. This will help the bon bons to hold together better. - If you don't have a food processor, you can crush the graham crackers by placing them in a plastic bag and rolling them with a rolling pin. - Be sure to use creamy peanut butter. Crunchy peanut butter will not work well in this recipe. - If the peanut butter mixture is too thick, you can add a little milk or water to thin it out. - Be sure to chill the bon bons for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will help them to firm up and hold their shape. - You can decorate the bon bons with melted chocolate, sprinkles, or chopped nuts. - These bon bons are best enjoyed fresh. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Conclusion:
Graham and peanut butter bon bons are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. They're made with just a few simple ingredients and can be customized to your liking. Whether you're looking for a sweet snack or a special dessert, these bon bons are sure to please. So next time you're in the mood for something sweet, give this recipe a try!
