PEACHES AND CREAM, LITERALLY

Peaches and Cream, Literally image

The classic combination of peaches and cream is as simple as it sounds: peaches, lightly sweetened and simmered, need only a splash of cold heavy cream and nothing more. Just remember to make this ahead of time for the peachiest results.

Time 3h20m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 4

4 fresh peaches, or as needed
⅓ cup white sugar, or to taste
¼ cup water
1 ½ cups heavy cream

Steps:

  • Cut each peach in half along the crease, twist open, and remove the pit. Peel and slice. Cut slices in half to get roughly 2 cups of sliced peaches.
  • Bring sugar and water to a boil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Boil until a syrup forms, about 3 minutes. Stir in peaches until coated. Bring syrup back to a light simmer, about 1 minute. Immediately remove from heat and pour mixture into a bowl.
  • Transfer peaches into a large bowl using a slotted spoon. Pour in heavy cream and stir to combine. Divide mixture between serving glasses, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate until completely chilled and cream has absorbed all the peach flavor, at least 3 hours.

Categories     Candy

Time 30m

Yield 8-14 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 cup peach, pulp
3/4 cup margarine
2/3 cup evaporated milk
3 cups sugar
2 cups marshmallow cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
nuts (optional)

Steps:

  • Combine the first four ingredients, bring to a boil (to soft ball stage).
  • Stir constantly because the mixture burns easily.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add: marshmallow cream, vanilla and powdered sugar (sifted) Blend well; pour into greased pan.
  • (the recipe did not specify pan size. I would guess an 8 or 9 inch square pan would make a thick fudge and a 13x9 inch pan if you like it a little thiner).
  • Add nuts if desired.
  • Cool, cut into squares.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, ripe peaches. This will give your fudge the best flavor.
  • Don't overcook the fudge. It should be cooked to a soft ball stage, which means that it will reach a temperature of 234-236 degrees Fahrenheit (112-114 degrees Celsius).
  • Let the fudge cool completely before cutting it. This will help it to set properly.
  • Store the fudge in an airtight container at room temperature. It will last for up to 2 weeks.
  • To make the fudge even more decadent, you can add a layer of whipped cream or ice cream in the middle.

Conclusion:

Grace's Peaches 'n Cream Fudge is a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. With its creamy texture, sweet peach flavor, and hint of cinnamon, this fudge is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a special dessert, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
