This is a great recipe that I found in my Grandma's recipe book. Judging from the weathered look of this recipe card, this was a family favorite.

HEALTHIER GOOD OLD FASHIONED PANCAKES

Healthier Good Old Fashioned Pancakes image

I loved this pancake recipe. Way better than a mix at the store but I wanted to cut a little of the fat. I make them with less butter, egg whites instead of a whole egg, and nonfat milk. They are so fluffy and tasty plus I feel great about giving them to my family.

Tips:

  • Use fresh baking powder for the best results. Old baking powder can result in flat pancakes.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in tough pancakes.
  • Let the batter rest for a few minutes before cooking. This will allow the baking powder to work its magic.
  • Use a hot griddle or frying pan. A cold griddle will result in unevenly cooked pancakes.
  • Cook the pancakes over medium heat. High heat will burn the outside of the pancakes before the inside is cooked through.
  • Flip the pancakes only once. Flipping them too often can result in deflated pancakes.
  • Serve the pancakes immediately with your favorite toppings.

Conclusion:

These good old-fashioned pancakes are a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast that the whole family will love. With just a few simple ingredients, you can have a stack of fluffy pancakes on the table in no time. Serve them with your favorite toppings, such as butter, syrup, fruit, or whipped cream, and enjoy!
