3 eggs, beaten
1 ½ cups white sugar
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ cup butter, melted
3 cups whole milk
10 slices hearty farmhouse-style bread, toasted and cut into cubes
1 cup raisins
½ cup light brown sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 pinch ground cinnamon
1 egg
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 ¼ cups whole milk
1 pinch salt
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 2-quart baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk 3 eggs, white sugar, 2 tablespoons of light brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/4 cup of butter, and 3 cups of whole milk together, and gently stir in the bread cubes and raisins. Lightly spoon the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until browned and set in the middle, 50 to 55 minutes; cover the dish with foil after 30 minutes to prevent excessive browning. Let the pudding stand for 10 minutes before serving.

0.5 teaspoons cinnamon powder
1 teaspoons sugar

I have been making this for decades. Great, easy way to make bread pudding, I have made this with all and any type of bread(except for rye and pumpernickel.

3 cups bread cubes, 6 to 8 slices
3 eggs, i have used egg substitutes with success
3 cups warm water
1 (14 ounce) can condensed milk, i have also used fat-free and low fat condensed milk
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease a 9 inch square pan with butter or cooking spray.
  • Place bread cubes in pan.
  • In a large bowl beat eggs.
  • Stir in rest of ingredients.
  • Pour over bread cubes.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes.
  • Serve warm or chilled.

15 whole eggs
40 oz. half and half (1 quart plus 1 cup)
12 oz. heavy cream (1 1/2 cups)
1 lb. sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
bread and raisins

Steps:

  • 1. Mix eggs, sugar, vanilla, half and half. Mix heavy cream.
  • 2. . Break bread or leave whole thick Texas style. Sprinkle with raisins and cinnamon sugar.
  • 3. Place in double boiler, water bath:Outside pan, 12 x 16, inside pan, 10 x 15.
  • 4. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325. covered with foil. I guess you can make 1/2 this recipe. Sure is rich, but oh, so delicious. Enjoy, Serves a boatload.   • Preheat oven to 375°F. Place bread pudding in large metal baking pan. Add enough boiling water to baking pan to come 1 inch up sides of dish with bread pudding. Bake until pudding is puffed and golden brown on top, approximately 50 minutes. Remove dish with bread pudding from water and cool slightly. Cut into squares. Serve bread pudding warm with sauce.
