Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 6

½ cup extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh chopped rosemary
4 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
2 teaspoons kosher salt

  • Make the marinade by combining the olive oil, rosemary, garlic, salt and pepper in a blender. Blitz for a few minutes, until garlic and rosemary are pulverized.
  • Place the flank steak in a medium baking dish. Using a fork, poke meat about 10 times on each side. Pour the marinade over top and turn the steak a few times to coat evenly. Cover with saran wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  • Grease grill with oil and preheat to high. When grill is hot, grill flank steak covered for about 5 minutes. Turn and cook covered for about 3-4 minutes more. Let meat rest on cutting board, covered with aluminum foil, for about 15 minutes. Slice very thin against the grain.

GRILLED FLANK STEAK

Categories     Beef     Garlic     Marinate     Rosemary     Summer     Grill/Barbecue

Yield Makes 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

3 lb flank steaks
1/3 cup white-wine vinegar
3/4 cup olive oil
1 1/2 tablespoons minced fresh rosemary
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Lightly pierce steaks all over with a sharp fork or knife. Whisk together remaining ingredients and transfer to a large resealable heavy-duty plastic bag. Add steaks and seal, pressing out excess air. Marinate steaks at least 6 hours or up to 1 day.
  • Prepare grill for cooking.
  • Grill steaks on an oiled rack set 5 to 6 inches over glowing coals, turning once, about 12 minutes for medium-rare. Transfer to a cutting board and let stand 5 minutes. Thinly slice steaks diagonally across the grain.

Tips:

  • Choose a flavorful flank steak. Look for a steak that is at least 1 inch thick and has good marbling.
  • Marinate the steak for at least 30 minutes. This will help to tenderize the steak and infuse it with flavor.
  • Cook the steak over high heat. This will help to create a nice crust on the outside of the steak while keeping the inside juicy and tender.
  • Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the steak, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.
  • Serve the steak with your favorite sides. Some popular options include grilled vegetables, roasted potatoes, or a simple salad.

Conclusion:

Grilled flank steak is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It is a great source of protein and iron, and it can be cooked in a variety of ways. Whether you are grilling it over an open flame or cooking it in a pan, grilled flank steak is sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering.
