Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 375°F Baking Sheet or 9 Cake Pan Combine eggs and sugar. Using a mixer, beat egg mixture until it has tripled in volume. With the mixer going, drizzle in oil, then the Glühwein.
- 2. Gently fold in the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, chocolate pieces, and cinnamon.
- 3. Prepare a cake pan by greasing it with butter or cooking spray. Pour the cake batter into the cake pan and distribute it evenly.
- 4. Bake cake for about 45-55 minutes. Test cake for doneness by sticking the center with a toothpick - if it comes out clean, the cake is done; if it doesn't come out clean, bake the cake a few more minutes and retest.
- 5. Remove cake from oven when its done and allow it to cool completely.
- 6. To prepare the glaze, combine the powdered sugar, rum, and cinnamon. Drizzle over cake. Cut cake into squares before serving.
- 7. It cooks really high, use a shallow baking pan. Use shaved or chocolate chunks and recommend putting in double what the recipe calls for. Tastes like gingerbread without the sticky molasses! ENJOY, with a mug of Glühwein!!!!
GLUEHWEIN
Gluehwein is a German/Austrian winter-holiday drink that most tourists know as an after-ski drink. After you come in out of the snow, it is supposed to make you glow with warmth again. Watch it: Since you drink this wine warm, the alcohol goes to your head extra quick! Drink when you really have come in, and do not have to go out again! This is the one my father used to make for New Year's Eve.

Tips:
- Use a good quality Glühwein: The flavor of the Glühwein will shine through in the cake, so it's important to use a good quality bottle. Look for a Glühwein that is made with real wine and spices, rather than artificial flavors.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the cake tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
- Bake the cake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean: This will ensure that the cake is cooked through.
- Let the cake cool completely before serving: This will allow the flavors to develop and the cake to set properly.
Conclusion:
Glühwein cake is a delicious and festive cake that is perfect for the holiday season. It's easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With its warm and spicy flavor, this cake is sure to be a hit at your next holiday party.
