Time 25m

Yield 1 serving

Number Of Ingredients 8

8 ounces boneless fish fillet, such as snapper or cod
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 tablespoon good olive oil
1 large sprig fresh thyme
2 Cerignola or other large green olives with pits
Extra-large egg

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  • Place the fish fillet on a piece of parchment paper and sprinkle it with the salt and pepper. Drizzle the lemon juice and olive oil over the top of the fillet. Lay the thyme on top and place the olives next to the fillet.
  • Beat the egg together with 1 tablespoon of water for an egg wash. Brush the egg wash around the edge of the parchment paper and fold it in half. Carefully fold the edge of the parchment paper under and around the fish to make a package. Place the package on a sheet pan and cook for 12 to 15 minutes, until the fish is cooked through. Serve hot in the parchment paper.

Tips:

  • Use parchment paper. Parchment paper is a great way to cook fish because it keeps the fish moist and prevents it from sticking to the pan. Plus, it makes cleanup a breeze.
  • Don't overcook the fish. Fish is a delicate protein, so it's important not to overcook it. Otherwise, it will become dry and tough.
  • Use fresh, flavorful ingredients. The fresher your ingredients are, the better your dish will taste. So, when possible, use fresh fish, ginger, garlic, and herbs.
  • Season the fish well. Don't be afraid to season the fish with salt, pepper, and other spices. This will help to enhance the flavor of the fish.
  • Be careful when handling the parchment paper. Parchment paper can be slippery, so be careful when handling it. Otherwise, you could end up with a mess on your hands.

Conclusion:

Ginger garlic fish in parchment is a delicious and healthy meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner. It's easy to make and only requires a few simple ingredients. Plus, it's a great way to get your kids to eat fish. So, next time you're looking for a quick and easy fish recipe, give ginger garlic fish in parchment a try. You won't be disappointed.
